Service Description

Provides nutrition services to individuals, groups, daycares, Headstart, schools, and community health staff. Two registered dietitians oversee the program that includes the following services:

  • Health Education
    • Individual counselling and support for prevention and management of chronic illness,
    • Group education workshops,
    • Health-risk assessment screening clinics.
  • ​​Community Kitchens
    • Cooking literacy and education,
    • Food skills development.
  • Food Security
    • Support for food security initiatives such as the Good Food Box, gardening, Meals on Wheels, and CPNP coupons.
  • Community Health Promotion
    • Health fairs and treaty days,
    • Distribute current health information,
    • Nutrition policy development and implementation.
  • School and Daycare Nutrition
    • Support healthy school environments through a healthy meal and snack program and school nutrition policy,
    • Resource development,
    • Training for teachers,
    • Nutrition education.

Eligibility

Members of the Saskatoon Tribal Council including Kinistin Saulteaux, Mistawasis Nêhiyawak, Muskeg Lake, Muskoday, One Arrow, and Yellow Quill First Nations. Limited programming is also available through Saskatoon Tribal Council affiliated programs within Saskatoon.
