Service Description
Promotes good oral health for people of all ages within the community. Provides online education and information related to oral health via the website. Programs include:
- Health Promotion, Education, and Prevention Services
- Based on community needs, provides health promotion, dental health education, and delivers preventitive programs on various topics
- Fluoride Services
- Services provided include promotion of community water fluoridation, school-based fluoride varnish programs, fluoride varnish drop-in for uban infants and preschoolers at health centres or by public health nurses, fluoride toothbrushing programs
- School Services
- Services provided include dental sealant program for grade one and two, dental screening of children from select grades every five years, annual dental screenings of children at high risk for tooth decay, referrals for dental treatment, fluoride toothbrushing programs, online oral health teaching resources for staff
- Older Adult and Special Needs Services
- Services include Better Oral Health in Log Term Care Program – a team approach to maintaining residents’ oral health and includes oral health assessment, care plan, daily oral hygiene, and treatment
- Health Promotion Services
- Services include promotion of oral health through use of media, National Oral Health Month activities in April, supply resources of oral health topics/requests
- Early Childhood and Family Services
- Services include oral health information packages for new parents, education sessions at community agencies, online oral health teaching resources
