Service Description

A prenatal support program that assists women and their children to achieve improved health.

  • With a focus on cooking low-cost nutritious food, women come together and have an opportunity to share ideas, make friends, and talk about their lives.
  • The food that is cooked is sent home with the participants to be shared with their families.
  • A participant-driven discussion on topics related to pregnancy follows each cooking session.
  • On-site childcare and transportation is provided.

Funded through the Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program, Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), and is sponsored by Saskatoon Health Region.

Eligibility

Pre/postnatal women and their children living with issues of: poverty, social isolation, poor housing, illiteracy, family violence, substance use/mental health issues, lack of medical care, new immigrant/refugee.
