Mental Health and Addictions Program
Provided by: Athabasca Health Authority

Provides mental health services, including but not limited to, psychiatry, psychology, addiction supports, adult mental health, child and youth mental health nursing, counseling services and mental health wellness and recovery.

Addictions Program

• ​Provides programs and services for alcohol, drugs and inhalants abuse through counselling and regular support groups. Offers:
  • Addictions Counsellors – Counsellors are available at the Black Lake and Fond du Lac clinics. 
  • Community Addictions Recovery Group (CARG) – Recovery group runs weekly meetings. Strict attendance is advised. Treatment period depends on the client’s needs and the assigned group. Apply in person or referral.
  • MATRIX Program (Outpatient Treatment) – One-on-one outpatient treatment program for individuals who cannot leave the community. Offers groups sessions, individual counselling and referrals. Apply in person, self-referral and by referral.

Psychiatric Clinics

• Provides psychiatric services at the Athabasca Health Authority Facility one day each month. Offers monthly community Tele-Health clinics with clients. The majority of the on-site psychiatric clinics are held at the AHA Facility with clients being transported in from Fond du Lac and Black Lake. Provides referrals to outside Mental Health In-patient services.
